Serving the Mobility Needs of our Rural Community
Lewis County has been providing public transportation Monday through Friday via 7 Fixed Routes throughout the county since the summer of 2009. Service is available in the following geographic areas: Harrisville, Indian River, Belfort, Croghan, New Bremen, Watson, Lowville, Brantingham, Boonville, Port Leyden, Lyons Falls, Constableville, Turin, Glenfield, Martinsburg, Copenhagen, Castorland, Naumburg, Deer River and Carthage.
The Lowville Loop provides continuous service throughout the Village three times per day, Monday through Friday. We also provide seasonal transportation to Old Forge during the summer.
Our College Connector route started round trip transportation to the major colleges in Utica in late August 2015. The fare is only $1.00 per trip for students. In addition, Lewis County provides public transportation for select special events such as the Cream Cheese Festival, Maple Weekend and Office for the Aging’s Annual Oktoberfest. All services are announced on our website (www.lewiscountyny.org) under the Public Transportation tab. Lewis County is pleased to serve the mobility needs of its residents.
